2021 Cards for Seniors

Love + Sharing = Joy for Seniors

The Community and Faith Outreach Initiative, Inc. demonstrated a heartwarming commitment to intergenerational connection and community spirit by undertaking a meaningful service project in collaboration with the Indianapolis Public Schools (IPS) and Charter Schools. Together, they embarked on the thoughtful initiative of creating holiday cards for seniors residing in nursing homes. This collaborative effort not only brought joy and festive cheer to the elderly residents but also fostered a sense of camaraderie between different generations and educational institutions. By engaging children from IPS and Charter Schools in crafting these holiday cards, the initiative spread seasonal warmth and encouraged creativity and empathy among the youth. The partnership exemplifies the power of community collaboration in promoting compassion and uplifting the spirits of vulnerable populations, showcasing the positive impact that collective efforts can have in building a stronger and more caring community.  We provided cards to the residents at American Village, Miller Merry Manor Senior Living Community, Rosewalk Senior Community, North Capital Nursing Home, Tranquility Nursing & Rehab, and Creekside Health & Rehab Center.

The schools and organizations that participated were IPS #83, 43, 27, Believe Circle City High School, Andrew J. Brown Academy, Indianapolis Church Women United, and CFOI Support Group members.
