Here in Indianapolis, we’re thrilled to shine a light on these remarkable individuals who go above and beyond, and their selflessness and unwavering support shape the future generation. This award is a tribute to their immeasurable love and sacrifice. This is our first group of grandparents that we honored with the “Because of Love” Award.
Our story began in Gary, Indiana, in 2009. It was a time when our hearts were moved by the incredible dedication of grandparents going above and beyond to support their grandchildren in school and at home. Many of these remarkable individuals faced immense challenges while navigating the responsibilities of raising their grandchildren, yet their unwavering determination persisted. We were inspired to do something meaningful, something that would honor their resilience and unconditional love. Thus, our journey commenced. We set out to reach every corner of our schools, churches, and communities, calling upon everyone to nominate these extraordinary souls whose love and sacrifice knew no bounds. Our mission? To establish the ‘Because of Love’ Award—an homage to these exceptional caregivers whose impact transcends generations. Together, let’s stand in awe of their excellent dedication and celebrate their profound influence on their families and the entire community.
